Job summary

The Juneau Public Libraries are seeking a Youth Services Librarian to coordinate youth services and partner with schools and community groups in Juneau, Alaska. The role emphasizes programming for children and families and strong patron engagement.

The ideal candidate will have MLS/MLIS and strong organizational and communication skills, with a commitment to excellent customer service and attendance. This is a full-time, on-site position with multiple library locations.

Qualifications

• MLS/MLIS or equivalent from an ALA-accredited program.
• Bachelor’s degree with some library/inf sci coursework can substitute for MLS/MLIS.
• One year of Librarian experience required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate youth services across the library system.
• Plan and present programs for children and families.
• Liaise with schools, teachers, and daycares.
• Lead community workshops and reading-related activities.
• Schedule and promote story times and visits.
• Maintain current knowledge of library trends.
