Job summary

Berkeley Heights Public Library in Berkeley Heights, NJ, seeks an experienced Head of Youth Services to lead programming, outreach, and collection development for children and teens.

You will supervise staff, manage a programming budget, collaborate with schools, and create engaging displays and resources. Minimum 5 years in youth services with supervisory experience required.

ALA accredited degree or NJDOE Librarian certificate preferred; residency in NJ or willingness to relocate.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in youth library services with supervisory experience.
• Experience designing and evaluating youth programs for ages 0-19.
• Knowledge of Koha ILS is a plus; strong collaboration with schools and community groups.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and oversee programming for infants to teens and caregivers.
• Coordinate outreach with schools, daycares, and community events.
• Develop and maintain collection for children and teens; curate displays.
• Supervise and train Youth Services staff; recruit teen volunteers.
• Prepare monthly/annual reports and contribute to BHPL communications.
