Job summary

buildOn seeks an Engagement Specialist in Boston, MA to work with youth at a designated partner high school. This full‑time, in‑person role features a schedule that includes afterschool and weekend service, with varying start times and a strong community impact focus.

The role requires 2+ years of youth engagement, an Associate’s degree or higher, and comfort with Salesforce/Google Suite. Bilingual abilities are preferred; benefits include health insurance and a 403b match.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of engaging youth in classroom or extracurricular programming.
• Demonstrated skills as a teacher/facilitator or work with teachers/facilitators on service-learning.
• Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish).
• Relevant educational background (Associate's degree or above).
• Experience using Google Suite, Canva, Salesforce or other data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Represent buildOn at one designated partner high school.
• Recruit students to serve with buildOn in their communities.
• Table or flyer share during student lunchtime to recruit.
• Set up a buildOn table at school-wide student fairs.
• Present to students in-class to introduce buildOn.
• Recruit students for Trek and school build projects.
• Plan and lead afterschool and weekend service projects.
• Collaborate with teachers to facilitate service-learning lessons.
• Host weekly program meetings to engage students and gather feedback.
• Establish a student leadership team to support the program.
