Job summary

THE SKATESIDE in Los Angeles is seeking fun, dependable Youth Roller Skating Coaches to join our team and help kids learn to skate, build confidence, and have a great experience.

You don't need to be an advanced skater; if you have solid basic roller skating skills, are comfortable with children, and bring a positive attitude, we can train you on our teaching methods and lesson structure. This is a part-time role with a weekday schedule and potential for weekend hours.

Qualifications

• Have basic roller skating skills.
• Enjoy working with kids and communicate well with parents.
• Be positive, patient, and encouraging.
• Reliable and punctual; able to lead a group.
• Have reliable transportation.
• Experience with children through camps, schools, recreation programs, or coaching is a plus.

Responsibilities

Love roller skating and enjoy working with kids?

THE SKATESIDE is looking for fun, dependable, and positive Youth Roller Skating Coaches to join our team and help kids learn to skate, build confidence, and have an amazing experience.

You do not need to be an advanced roller skater. If you have solid basic roller skating skills, are comfortable working with kids, and have a positive attitude, we can train you on our teaching methods and lesson structure.

The Schedule

Most of our school-year programs happen Monday - Friday between approximately 1:00 - 5:00 PM.

You choose the weekdays that work with your schedule.

Once you're assigned to a program, we'll count on you to consistently coach that same day each week for the session.

Additional hours may also be available through weekend programs, skate camps, private lessons, special events, and school programs.

Locations

We're currently hiring in:

• Culver City
• Santa Monica

Coaches may work in one or both areas based on their availability. Reliable transportation is required.

Pay & Opportunities

• $23/hour + bonuses
• Additional $2/hour for qualifying childcare/child-development credentials

Child Safety

Because we work with children, all coaches must meet required background screening and child-safety requirements before working in our programs.

THE SKATESIDE will provide guidance on the required steps during the hiring process.

Already have experience working with children or completed Mandated Reporter Training? That's a plus!
