Job summary

FamilyCore in Peoria, IL seeks a full-time respite program staff to supervise and mentor youth in Day Respite and Supportive Respite. You will assist with homework, teach social skills, and help keep youth engaged in a safe, structured environment.

Responsibilities include de-escalation, activity planning, data handling, and coordinating with families while upholding safety and program standards; background checks and driving duties apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-3 years of experience required.
• Ability to facilitate and manage groups of varied-age students.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic proficiency in MS Word and Excel; PowerPoint preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification required; background checks required.

Responsibilities

• Provide close supervision of youth and assist with homework.
• Plan and facilitate program activities.
• Maintain a calm, structured environment and de-escalation skills.
• Organize and maintain confidential data and reports.
• Establish working relationships with parents and community resources.
• Ensure safety protocols and program compliance.
