Job summary

VisionQuest is seeking a dedicated Cook to serve meals to children in our care. The role emphasizes nutritious menus, safety, and a positive dining environment to support well-being and growth.

The position requires a GED/HS diploma, prior residential kitchen experience, and a Food Manager/Handler certificate or ability to obtain one after hire. Flexible schedule includes Wednesdays and long weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• GED or HS Diploma required.
• Previous cook experience in residential or institutional setting preferred.
• Current Food Managers/Handlers certificate or ability to obtain after hire.

Responsibilities

• Meal Planning and Preparation: plan and prepare balanced meals for children, consider dietary restrictions and preferences.
• Food Safety and Hygiene: adhere to food safety standards, sanitize equipment and maintain clean cooking areas.
• Kitchen Management: manage inventory, order items, and maintain budget-friendly meal planning.
• Other tasks as assigned by supervisors.
