Minnetonka Public Schools offers an internship in youth recreation, with 30-40 hours per week across 10-14 weeks. The program runs October through December or January through March, with a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends.

• Pursuing a BA or BS in recreation, youth development, sports management, leisure studies, community education, or a related field at an accredited college or university (juniors and seniors preferred).
• Successful experience in youth recreation and a passion for working with youth.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills; ability to relate well to both children and adults and thrive in a team setting.
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision.
• Evidence of ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
• Proven record of punctuality and responsibility.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
• Must have a reliable form of transportation.
• Current certification in CPR and First Aid (or willingness to become certified upon hire; training provided).

Responsabilidades

• Participate in program management, including program development, scheduling, budgeting, marketing, registration, facilities management, and staffing.
• Assist in supervising and providing guidance for participants in seasonal youth programs and special events.
• Participate in planning, preparation, and leading age‑appropriate activities and staff trainings.
• Establish positive and friendly relationships with participants and families.
• Assist in the supervision and training of program staff.
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
• Participate in a mock interview at the conclusion of the internship.
