Job summary

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) operates the Joliet Job Corps Center in Joliet, IL. We are seeking staff to monitor and direct students in on-and off-center recreation, ensuring compliance with directives while fostering a positive, educational environment.

The role emphasizes program planning, student engagement, safety, and support for employability initiatives, with a chance to contribute to community development and youth services at our Joliet campus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year experience preferred.
• Computer proficiency required.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and direct students in center-sponsored recreational activities in compliance with directives.
• Plan, implement and coordinate a diverse recreation program to attract participation.
• Organize and supervise student participation in recreation/avocation activities and extended day learning activities.
• Conduct recreation and avocation classes and activities.
• Chaperone students to center recreation functions.
• Develop enrollee recreation activities and plans.
• Conduct intergroup recreation activities as part of the diversity program.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment through daily cleaning duties.
• Distribute mail daily to students.
• Provide positive customer services to students, staff and center customers.
• Support employability programs and Job Corps policies.
