Job summary

City of Fort Wayne is seeking a part-time Recreation Coordinator for Weisser Park Youth Center to lead and deliver youth and community programming. You will plan activities, support staff, and help keep programs running smoothly to create a positive experience for participants.

Responsibilities include planning and evaluating activities, maintaining spaces, tracking attendance, and assisting with registrations and communications.

Qualifications

• Two years post-high school education in Physical Education, Leisure Studies, or related field OR equivalent experience.
• Experience working with youth or in recreation programs preferred.
• Strong organization, communication, and ability to lead activities independently.

Responsibilities

• Plan, lead, and evaluate youth and community activities.
• Maintain supplies, equipment, and organized program spaces.
• Track attendance, participation, and program data accurately.
• Support daily operations including registration, setup, and communication.
• Step in where needed - covering programs, assisting staff, and supporting facility needs.
• Provide daily oversight of 5-10 seasonal staff.
