Job summary

City of Sunny Isles Beach is seeking an enthusiastic Recreation Support staff member to help plan, organize, promote and lead recreational activities for youth from 18 months to 17 years old. The role includes coaching, mentorship, safety, and daily lesson planning.

Responsibilities include supervising facilities, tracking attendance, and communicating with parents. A high school diploma and experience with children are required; schedule includes nights, weekends, and City-sponsored events.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of experience working with children.
• Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, and administering activities for ages 18 months to 17 years, including sports, crafts, academics and homework help.
• Coaches, mentors, and oversees positive interaction and development of participants in recreation programs.
• Prepares lesson plans for each day of the assigned program and ensures safe setup and breakdown of activity spaces.
• Supervises recreational areas and enforces facility rules; tracks attendance and provides feedback to participants and parents.
