Job summary

Bay State Community Services, Inc. is seeking a Therapeutic Mentor to support youth in behavioral health services.

The role emphasizes building authentic connections, collaborating with the youth’s team, and developing activities to enhance social skills and peer relationships. The position requires a Bachelor’s/Associate degree or high school diploma with relevant experience, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to participate in extensive training including CEUs for licensure paths.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Service field and 1 year relevant experience working with children/adolescents/transition age youth
• Associate’s degree in Human Service field and 1 year relevant experience working with children/adolescents/transition age youth
• High School Diploma or GED and minimum of 2 years relevant experience working with children/adolescents/transition age youth
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Active driver’s license is required
• Knowledge of and/or ability to learn and acquire skills in human growth and development, as well as principles of Wraparound and Systems theory

Responsibilities

• Making authentic connections with youth of all genders
• Working collaboratively with the youth’s team
• Developing activities that will increase social skills, communication, and peer relationships
• Using strength-based interventions that address the youth’s behavioral health needs
• Supporting the youth and family in developing a risk management plan alongside a Master’s level clinician
• Driving is required
