Job summary

Christian County Library in Missouri is seeking a part-time Youth Services Associate to support programming and outreach for ages zero to eighteen and their families, and to maintain a safe, welcoming branch environment.

Responsibilities include planning and presenting youth programs, regular storytimes, coordinating reading challenges, promoting events, assisting with the library catalog and readers’ advisory, and traveling to other branches as needed.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years library experience or 30 college credit hours
• Preferred: experience with children and teens
• Preferred: education-focused coursework or college credits

Responsibilities

• Plan and present youth programs for ages zero to eighteen
• Record statistics of programs and evaluate effectiveness
• Promote programs and assist patrons with registering for programs
• Maintain a clean, safe, welcoming branch environment
• Travel to other branches as needed to assist with programs
