Job summary

Euclid Public Library is seeking a Youth Services Associate to serve children and teens, answer reference questions in person and by phone, and help families discover the love of reading.

You will conduct storytimes for preschoolers, run programs for ages birth through 12th grade, and represent the library with classroom visits. A Bachelor’s degree is required, and a valid Ohio driver’s license. Schedule includes weekend/evening hours and a strong focus on customer service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Knowledge of children’s interests and pop culture useful.
• Library experience helpful, experience working directly with children is preferred.
• Valid Ohio Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Answer reference questions in-person and by phone.
• Recommend books to youth of all ages.
• Assist families to discover the love of reading and resources for school assignments.
• Help patrons find resources and use library equipment.
• Consistently enforce library rules with the public.
• Conduct storytimes for preschoolers, programs for children birth to 12th grade, and classroom visits with students in Euclid.
