Job summary

Douglas County School District’s Pioneer Elementary unit seeks an Assistant Program Manager - BASE to supervise children, guide staff, and support daily program operations. The role involves developing and evaluating programs, ensuring safety, and fostering community relations with families and school partners.

Requirements include age 21+, a relevant degree or equivalent experience, and completion of required trainings in safety, child abuse prevention, and first aid.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctoral degree in child development, psychology, early childhood education, or related fields.
• Alternative: Associate’s degree + 3 months of care experience with 4+ children; or 21 months of experience with 4+ children plus coursework.
• ECE credential level II+ (ECPC 3.0) per state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor staff to meet program goals.
• Ensure child safety through supervision and guidance.
• Promote social-emotional development and positive peer relations.
• Assist Director in demonstrating compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Plan activities to foster learning, life skills, and community belonging.
• Collaborate with families and other providers to support each child.

Education

Bachelor’s/Master’s/Doctoral in Child Development, Psychology, Early Childhood Education or related fields

Associate’s degree + 3 months care experience with 4+ children (non-related)

21 months experience with 4+ non-related children; optional coursework/training

Current ECE credential, level II or higher (ECPC 3.0)
