Job summary

The YMCA of Greater New York is seeking a Teen Coordinator at West Side YMCA in New York City. You will lead the management and implementation of all teen programs, supervise staff, and build community partnerships.

Programs run after school, on Saturdays, and during summer evenings; you will monitor outcomes, manage data, budget, and coordinate with schools and youth services to support teen development.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required. A college degree in Education or Social Work is desired.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with teens/youth and planning activities.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications preferred.
• General knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong interpersonal skills and leadership qualities, and comfortable with multicultural youth and adults.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of teens in the program through close supervision of activities.
• Manage administrative data entry in systems such as Youth Service.NET and AS400; coordinate participant paperwork and surveys.
• Plan, coordinate, and implement program registration, programming, workshops, and events with support from Teen Advisors.
• Directly facilitate teen programming in lieu of the Teen Advisor when vacant.
• Ensure programming emphasizes Social Emotional Learning and skill development.
• Assist in marketing and distribution of program information and help compile statistics.
