Job summary

The Salvation Army GAINS Program in New York invites applications for Group Leader I to support the Program Director and help oversee a designated group of children aged 5-13. You will contribute to daily activities, lead in designated areas, and help ensure welfare, safety, and positive development.

The role requires leadership experience in youth programming, CPR/First Aid certification, and the ability to work varied hours (part-time on school days and full-time on non-school days).

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years’ experience in youth or camp programming.
• Strong leadership abilities with peers.
• Current CPR and first aid certifications.
• Availability for part-time on school days and full-time on non-school days.

Responsibilities

• Lead designated group of children and supervise staff.
• Plan and conduct program activities.
• Attend leadership meetings and plan staff gatherings.
• Coordinate daily assembly and report to Program Director.
• Ensure health, safety and welfare of participants.
• Communicate concerns and support program mission.
