Job summary

The Salvation Army seeks a Group Leader III to support the GAINS program under the supervision of Program Directors. You will help run daily activities, monitor safety, and contribute to staff meetings and planning.

The role involves guiding children and staff, with potential escalation to lead activities as needed. Ideal candidates are teachable, committed to development, and prepared to work across program areas, including dining and outdoor/indoor activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; experience may substitute as allowed by State regulations.
• At least 6 months experience in youth or camp programming.
• Interest in leadership with peers or organized programming.
• Current CPR & First Aid Certifications.
• Available to work part-time on school days and full-time on non-school days.

Responsibilities

• Involvement in the total program with willingness to help in all areas as needed.
• Promote observance of the moral and ethical code affecting children and staff.
• Attend Orientation Sessions and parent meetings.
• Attend Program Leadership Meetings and contribute.
• Help plan and conduct General Staff Meetings.
• Lead and coordinate with the Program Director on welfare matters.
• Assist Program Director in advancing the GAINS Program mission.
• Debrief at year-end and summer camp to plan for next year.
• Provide leadership and guidance to assigned children and staff.
• Maintain health, cleanliness, and welfare of all children and staff.
• Coordinate daily assembly as directed by the Program Director.
• Communicate concerns to the Program Director to protect health and safety.
