Job summary

Grand Street Settlement is hiring a Group Leader for the 2026-2027 school year at The Rose Center, NYC. You will promote growth, leadership, and a positive self-image among youth, delivering literacy and math lessons, hands-on enrichment, and monitoring safety during after-school programs.

The role is part-time, located in New York, with a 3 pm–6 pm Monday–Friday schedule. You should have prior curricula design and youth coaching experience, plus background checks and certifications as required.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching and designing curricula.
• Working with diverse young people.
• 3+ years experience with youth (volunteer acceptable).
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Training: complete 15 hours of training within first three months.
• Supervise participants: ensure safety and engagement in activities.
• Ensure safety: maintain first aid kits and emergency records.
• Other responsibilities: communicate with parents and colleagues; supervise youth staff.
