Job summary

BLACK - Building Leadership And Community Knowledge in Chicago seeks a Program Director to research, plan, develop and implement youth programs, train and mentor staff, and lead large group discussions to address questions and resolve complaints.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or extensive training/experience in youth-oriented programs.
• Experience living in the Chicagoland area or working with local youth initiatives.
• Ability to train and mentor staff and lead large group discussions.

Responsibilities

• Train and mentor staff.
• Lead large group discussions to answer questions and remedy complaints.
• Create and nurture effective communication within the organization.
• Build a strong team through open communication and collaboration on decisions.
• Initiate and set goals for programs based on strategic objectives.
• Plan programs from start to finish, including deadlines and milestones.
• Develop and approve operations and budgets.
• Maintain excellent record-keeping with participant files and reports.
