Job summary

The Explorer Program Coordinator at The Boys’ Club of New York Inc. supports the development, implementation, and supervision of educational, recreational, and social programs for youth ages 7 to 21 within the clubhouse and external spaces.

Under the Age Group Director, this role assists in planning activities, coordinating staff and volunteers, and applying behavior management strategies, with opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in youth development, education, or afterschool.
• Strong communication skills with youth, staff, and parents.
• Experience managing multiple priorities and staying organized.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Experience managing staff preferred.
• First Aid and CPR certification desirable (not required).

Responsibilities

• Oversee implementation and facilitation of programs and curricula.
• Assist in planning and managing daily activities in clubhouse and external spaces.
• Support Age Group Director with events, parent activities, and trips.
• Assist in training, supervision, and evaluation of frontline staff and volunteers.
• Apply behavior management strategies and communicate incidents to leadership.
• Attend mandatory professional development trainings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
