Job summary

CPC Education and Career Services (ECS) seeks a Program Coordinator to provide individualized guidance, counseling, and case management for after-school participants at New Utrecht High School, Brooklyn. You will support students’ academic and career goals, coordinate guest speakers and field trips, and maintain participant records within program guidelines.

Under Campus Director supervision, you will help with recruitment, enrollment, and collaboration with multiple stakeholders, including DYCD

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Work, Counseling or related field.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience working within the fields of youth and/or workforce Development.
• Must be culturally competent and provide services in a manner sensitive to participants’ cultural, heritage and traditions, life experience, sexual orientation and gender identity.
• Excellent written, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Strong work ethic and demonstrated passion for working with immigrant and low-income communities, and youth development.
• Knowledge of MS office applications, especially Excel, and virtual platforms such as Zoom, Teams, and Webex.
• Working knowledge of Canva or Adobe Creative Cloud applications are a plus.
• Willingness to travel to worksites via public transportation.
• Bilingual; fluency in English and any of the following languages Arabic/Chinese/Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of the Campus Director, provide individualized guidance, counseling, and case management; enter notes and track progress.
• Assist and guide high school students with academic, financial, and/or professional goals.
• Act as a liaison between CPC and worksites, and develop partnerships across sectors.
• Co-plan social-emotional learning, project-based learning, career-readiness and life-skills workshops.
• Coordinate scheduling of guest speakers, service opportunities, and field trips.
• Maintain participant files and track attendance, progress and outcomes.
• Assist with recruitment, enrollment, and retention of participants.
• Support homework help and tutoring; knowledge of high school subjects is a plus.
• Refer CPC services to youth and families; attend trainings and collaborate with related programs.
