Job summary

Elginedc is seeking a Youth Services Assistant to support day-to-day operations in the library’s youth services area. The role involves helping plan activities for children, teens, and families and assisting users with library resources.

The candidate should be fluent in English and Spanish, able to provide excellent customer service, and willing to collaborate with community partners on youth initiatives.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required; related experience or volunteer work with children is a plus.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.
• Knowledge of library operations and public service essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and coordinating programs for children, teens, and families.
• Provide excellent customer service and assist with reference functions.
• Maintain clean workspaces in the library and common areas.
• Assist customers in finding library materials and create displays.
• May help develop library marketing materials, social media content, and newsletters.
• Collaborate with community partners on youth programs and services.
