Job summary

City of Sunny Isles Beach is seeking a Support Recreation Assistant to help develop, organize, promote and lead diverse activities for youths aged 18 months to 17 years across a broad range of programs.

You will coach participants, plan daily lessons, ensure safety, track attendance, and assist with facility setup. The role requires working evenings, weekends, holidays, and city events, with CPR/First Aid certification pursued after hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of experience working with children.
• Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• CPR and Pediatric First Aid certifications within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assists in planning, developing, and administering activities for recreation programs.
• Coaches, mentors, and oversees participant growth and development.
• Prepares and implements daily lesson plans.
• Prepares and breaks down the program area to ensure safety and order.
• Participates in all activities and enforces facility rules.
• Tracks attendance and communicates progress to participants and parents.
• Maintains inventory of supplies and assists with facility setup/maintenance.
• May supervise various recreational areas and events.
