Job summary

The Salvation Army Youth Center in Peoria, IL is seeking a Program Aide to support the educational, recreational, and developmental programs under the Youth Director.

Qualifications

• Pass pre-employment background inquiry and annual motor vehicle check with a valid license.
• 1–2 years of youth work preferred.
• Must love working with school-aged children and demonstrate leadership.
• Ability to work with diverse backgrounds in a respectful manner.

Responsibilities

• Assist in administrative components of the Youth Center (typing, filing, meetings).
• Assist Youth Director with program duties and prepare materials for workshops.
• Supervise after-school activities: homework, tutoring, crafts, computer stations.
• Assist with visits by teachers or guests and with daily reporting.
• Ensure safety and well-being of students following Safe from Harm guidelines.
