Job summary

The College of Lake County (CLC) is seeking Adjunct Faculty for Community Education (Serving Youth) at the Grayslake Campus to develop curricula and teach middle and high school students across multiple sites. Instructors will deliver in-person, virtual live, asynchronous, or hybrid classes, with emphasis on STEM, manufacturing, and healthcare.

Positions are part-time (5 hours/week) with pay of $40–$60 per hour. Posting date 09/11/2026; Expected start 12/31/2026, at Grayslake Campus.

Qualifications

• At least two years experience teaching, coaching, or volunteering with youth, with subject-matter expertise and clear communication.
• Ability to differentiate instruction for advanced vs. needing support, adjusting content, rigor, and pace.
• Clear background check required.
• Competency with Outlook and Microsoft Office; ability to use classroom projection tech; experience with Canvas LMS and enrollment software.

Responsibilities

• Develop and teach in the assigned subject(s) and level(s) in new or existing programs.
• Fulfill administrative requirements, meet deadlines, and complete required training including compliance training.
• Schedule varies; days, evenings and Saturdays possible; multiple class locations across Lake County.
• Delivery modes include in-person, virtual live via Zoom, asynchronous, or a hybrid; in-person is most common.
