Job summary

YMCA of Coastal Georgia, Inc. is seeking a YBASE Group Leader to supervise and guide children aged 4-14, indoors and outdoors, while delivering curriculum and maintaining attendance. The role supports site operations, snacks, meals, and safety standards under the Program Director’s guidance.

You will work with the Site Director, complete required trainings, and participate in family engagement events. The position emphasizes fairness, respect, and professional conduct.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Basic understanding of child development principles and developmental practices.
• Experience with school-age children preferred.
• Criminal background check and fingerprint check required.
• CPR and First Aid within 90 days of employment.
• 18 Bright From the Start approved training hours per year must be achieved and maintained.

Responsibilities

• Actively engage with and supervise groups of children indoors and outdoors.
• Implement curriculum provided by the Program Director, including setting up activity centers and equipment.
• Maintain daily attendance records and other routine clerical tasks.
• Sign in/out procedures and transportation log maintenance.
• Assist with meal/snack distribution and accurate meal counts.
• Uphold health, safety, and cleanliness standards in YBASE areas.
• Treat participants, families and staff with fairness, dignity and respect; maintain professional conduct.
• Attend staff meetings and required trainings; report suspected abuse as a mandated reporter.
