Job summary

The City of Thornton, Colorado, is seeking enthusiastic Youth Program Leaders to support licensed and non-licensed youth programs. Roles range from entry-level to journey-level, with advancement from Youth Program Leader I and experience required for II.

You’ll supervise participants, lead age-appropriate activities, ensure safety, and engage with families. CPR/First Aid certification is required or obtainable within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age for Youth Program Leader I; Youth Program Leader II requires 17+ with 270 hours of experience with children 5–15.
• State requirements for Licensed Programs: 18+ with 460 hours of verifiable experience with school-age children.
• CPR and First Aid certifications or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist with supervision of participants.
• Provide age-appropriate activities and set up/teardown.
• Enforce safety standards and report accidents or incidents.
• Provide outreach to youth and families; build relationships.
• Provide excellent customer service and respond to parent questions.
• Plan and implement program curriculum and activities; assist in promotion of activities.
