Job summary

The Salvation Army Brooklyn Brownsville Corps is seeking a Program Specialist to run and supervise the middle school program, including homework help, meals, sports, and arts.

The role involves administrative chores, supporting the Program Director, and stepping into leadership in their absence. Hours during the school year are 2-6pm, with full-day summer camps and travel for field trips. In-person position with travel requirements.

Qualifications

• Requires strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrates organizational and time-management abilities.
• Leadership experience preferred for coordinating youth activities.

Responsibilities

• Run daily middle school activities including homework help, meals and snacks, sports, music and arts, crafts, and field trips.
• Provide supervision and support during day-to-day operations and events.
• Assist with administrative duties such as record keeping, enrollment paperwork, and program reporting.
• Support Program Director and assume leadership in their absence when needed.
• Attend and contribute to staff meetings and program planning sessions.
