Job summary

Big Ideas Educational Services is seeking a Teacher Assistant / Activity Leader to support certified teachers, supervise students, and organize instructional materials. The role includes leading fitness, SEL experiences, recreational games, and homework help within a safe, engaging program day.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and some education coursework; related experience with children is preferred. Applicants must be able to work indoors and outdoors and follow program protocols.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate's degree or coursework in Education preferred but not required.
• Experience with elementary-aged children in educational settings is valued.

Responsibilities

• Assist certified teachers with daily instruction and small-group activities.
• Prepare lesson materials and classroom resources.
• Provide homework and academic support during learning periods.
• Lead physical fitness and recreational activities.
• Reinforce social-emotional learning throughout the day.
• Maintain direct supervision to ensure safety and structure.
• Collaborate with staff to ensure a positive student experience.
• Communicate with parents and school staff as appropriate.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings.
