Job summary

Hanover Township is seeking a Youth Program Lead for the Open Gym Program. The role involves programming and supervising Youth Program Assistants and participants, ensuring safety and engagement, and applying Positive Youth Development and Restorative Practices in interactions.

This part-time, non-exempt position requires a flexible schedule including regular evenings and some weekend hours. Pro-rated holiday pay, paid leave, paid training, and EAP access are offered.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Presents strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to supervise staff and coordinate activities.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Willingness to work regular evenings and occasional weekends.
• Must possess a valid Illinois Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Provide programming and supervision of Youth Program Assistants and participants.
• Ensure safety and engagement of program participants in Open Gym.
• Model Positive Youth Development (PYD) and Restorative Practices (RP).
• Assist with meeting the mission of the department by serving as a positive role model.

Hanover Township - Youth Program Lead (Part-time)

Under the direction of the After-School Program Coordinator, The Youth Program Lead provides programming and supervision of Youth Program Assistants and participants at the Open Gym Program.

The Youth Program Lead staff is responsible for the safety and engagement of program participants.

This position models and implements Positive Youth Development (PYD) and Restorative Practices (RP) methods in one on one and group interactions.

This position assists with meeting the mission of the Department by being a positive role model and ensuring safety for the youth served.

The part-time, non-exempt position pays $17.50 per hour.

SCHEDULE

Monday through Friday

School year: 1:00pm - 6:00pm

School breaks: 11:45am - 4:00pm

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• One year of supervisory experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
• Willingness to work regular evenings and occasional weekends as requested.
• Possess a valid Illinois Driver’s License.
