Job summary

WestCare Tennessee is seeking a Strategic Prevention Framework Youth Activities Coordinator in Morristown, TN. You will support the Prevention team, coordinate data collection, and help deliver community-based prevention programs through DFC, P.A.C.C, and the TN Drug Endangered Children initiative.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain and maintain WestCare vehicle insurance is required.
• Previous experience of at least 3-5 years will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• At least one year of experience working with adolescents or in a comparable role.
• At least two years of experience in a substance use prevention program preferred.
• Basic knowledge of behavioral health, social services, or related industry.
• Excellent communication skills including public speaking.
• Some experience with performing outreach and marketing.
• Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Ability to adhere to the highest standard of ethical conduct and confidentiality.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Must be culturally/linguistically sensitive to populations served.
• Ability to stay highly organized and maintain time management.
• Ability to utilize a computer and software that includes Microsoft 365.
• Regular and prompt attendance is required throughout employment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and facilitate Camp Mariposa programs and family events.
• Educate teachers and staff on substance abuse impacts.
• Deliver evidence-based prevention programming to youth.
• Facilitate meetings on current drug trends and prevention.
• Represent WestCare Tennessee at community events.
• Submit weekly reports to the Project Director.
• Coordinate with community partners and schools.
• Recruit and train community volunteers.
• Attend trainings, meetings, and conferences.
• Maintain confidentiality and ethical conduct.
• Perform additional tasks to support office workflow.
