Job summary

Part-Time Youth Pastor

Position Type: Part-Time (approx. 15-20 hours/week)

Reports To: Lead Pastor

Position Overview

Findlay First Assembly of God is seeking a relational, spirit-empowered Part-Time Youth Pastor to lead and disciple our middle and high school students. Aligned with our vision—"In the city for the city!"—the Youth Pastor will be responsible for creating an engaging environment where youth encounter Jesus, build deep faith, connect across generations, and learn to serve their local community.

Key Responsibilities

1. Leadership & Weekly Programming

• Plan, lead, and oversee the weekly Wednesday evening Youth Ministry service (6:30 PM - 7:30 PM).
• Teach biblically grounded, Spirit-led, and culturally relevant messages tailored to middle and high school students.
• Create small group structures or discipleship opportunities that foster spiritual growth and authentic community.

2. Relational Discipleship & Outreach

• Build meaningful relationships with students both inside and outside church services (e.g., attending school events, lunches, or community gatherings).
• Equip and empower youth to live as active witnesses in their schools and community.
• Organize periodic fellowship events, local outreach projects, retreats, and participation in district Assembly of God events (such as Fine Arts, Youth Convention, or summer camps).

3. Team Building & Volunteer Development

• Recruit, train, and equip adult volunteer leaders to mentor and supervise students safely.
• Ensure all youth ministry volunteers complete background checks and adhere to church safety protocols.

4. Family & Generational Connection

• Partner with parents and guardians, providing resources and communication to support them in discipling their teenagers.
• Support Findlay First AG's core value of Connecting the Generations by actively integrating youth into the broader life of the church.

5. Administrative & Team Collaboration

• Manage the youth ministry calendar and budget efficiently.
• Maintain clear, timely communication with parents and leadership via social media, email, or messaging apps.
• Participate in regular pastoral staff updates and align youth initiatives with the overall vision of the Lead Pastor and church leadership.

Qualifications & Expectations

• Spiritual Integrity: A personal, growing relationship with Jesus Christ, marked by personal integrity, prayer, and a Pentecostal worldview aligned with the Assemblies of God.
• Doctrinal Alignment: Full agreement with the 16 Fundamental Truths of the Assemblies of God.
• Credentials: Assemblies of God credentials (certified, licensed, or ordained) preferred, or actively pursuing credentials.
• Calling & Passion: A clear heart for discipling students and reaching the youth of the Findlay community.
• Communication Skills: Strong relational, leadership, and public speaking abilities.
• Background Check: Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.

Work Schedule & Hours

• Hours: 15-20 hours per week (includes Wednesday evening youth services, weekend/Sunday involvement, event preparation, and relational ministry time).
• Compensation: Commensurate with experience and educational background.
