The State of Nevada, Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS), seeks a Youth Parole Counselor 1 underfilling Youth Parole Counselor 2 in the Rural Region (Elko, Fallon, or Reno). The role supervises youth, enforces parole, coordinates placement and treatment plans with schools, courts, and community agencies.

Essential qualifications include a relevant degree or equivalent experience; duties include developing parole plans, liaising with agencies, documenting progress, and supporting

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, psychology, social work or closely related field; OR graduation from high school and two years of experience in the criminal justice system.
• Experience conducting casework services, determining program eligibility, investigating offenders, or coordinating with law enforcement and juvenile justice systems.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

Responsabilidades

• Meet with staff, youth, judges, counselors, families and placement centers to develop parole and treatment plans.
• Coordinate with community agencies to address treatment and supervision needs of youth.
• Document all contact and report data in statewide databases as required.
• Monitor progress and prepare reports reflecting ward progress or violations.
• Enforce parole violations and assist law enforcement and state agencies as needed.
• Make placement decisions and arrange services such as substance abuse counseling and mental health evaluations.

Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, psychology, social work or closely related field

Two years of experience in the criminal justice system

One year as Correctional Officer or Forensic Specialist III (Nevada)

Two years as Group Supervisor II or Parole & Probation Specialist II (Nevada)
