Job summary

Saint Stephen the Martyr Parish in Renton, WA, invites applications for a full-time Pastoral Assistant for Youth Ministry beginning July 1, 2026. You will lead junior and senior high youth programs, forming faith and community within our parish.

We seek a self-motivated, faith-filled leader who can articulate a clear vision for youth ministry, recruit volunteers, and collaborate with pastors and staff to implement a robust program with retreats, education, service, and worship opportunities.

Qualifications

• Active Catholic who embraces Catholic doctrine and theology.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or pastoral theology.
• Self-motivated, effective communicator and organizer.

Responsibilities

• Provide a vision for youth ministry aligned with the Catholic Church and the parish vision.
• Develop and implement activities including retreats, religious education, socials, recreation/athletic activities, outreach service programs, and worship/adoration opportunities.
• Recruit and train volunteers as needed.
• Provide guidance, resources, and curriculum in coordination with the pastor, to help parents engage and provide faith formation to their youth at home.
• Coordinates and directs a volunteer team for the Confirmation program.
• Works with the pastor and administrative leaders to develop a budget required to accomplish the ministry vision.
