Job summary

Friends of the Children Detroit is seeking a Program Manager to supervise and support the Friends, guiding them to foster strong relationships with youth and families. This role emphasizes mentorship, supervision, and compliance with organizational policies.

The Program Manager will recruit, onboard, and oversee New Friends, ensuring alignment with mission, vision, and values, and will lead communications across teams to sustain program quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum of bachelor’s degree strongly preferred, plus five years of experience with children, including at least 2.5 years as a Mentor.
• Previous supervisory experience mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Develop and sustain honest, trusting relationships with colleagues and motivate team members.
• Serve as a role model for Friends, guiding professional conduct and relationships.
• Support hiring, onboarding and supervision of New Friends; train and mentor teams.
