Job summary

The Choice Program Service Coordinator at University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) provides high-quality, community-based mentoring and advocacy to young people involved with the Department of Juvenile Services in central Maryland.

You will assist with goal planning, document engagement, and coordinate activities with Choice AmeriCorps mentors, while participating in team meetings and ongoing training to support positive youth development through an anti-racist, trauma-informed approach.

Qualifications

• One year of experience working or volunteering in youth development or related field.
• Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person mentoring and advocacy to youth in central Maryland.
• Assist youth with goal planning and achievement.
• Document and report engagement with youth and families to internal teams and DJJS.
• Coordinate activities with Choice AmeriCorps mentors for evenings/weekends.
• Attend organizational and team meetings.
• Engage in training opportunities to foster positive youth development.
