Job summary

Discovery Ranch in Mapleton, Utah, is seeking Youth Mentors to join our residential treatment team. You will work with boys aged 13-18, helping them develop new skills and personal growth in a therapeutic setting that blends traditional and experiential therapies, including equine therapy.

This entry-level role offers flexible schedules, the chance to gain professional behavioral and mental health experience, and the support of a caring team.

Qualifications

• Must pass background check.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility, patience, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to respond effectively in crisis situations.
• Passionate about working with young people and helping them reach their potential.
• A bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred but not required.
• Experience working with teenagers or in a related field is preferred.
• Must be able to pass motor vehicle record check.
• First Aid & CPR certified (we may provide).

Responsibilities

• Monitor the students' daily routines and chores.
• Attend and facilitate experiential activities, group therapy sessions and outdoor recreational activities.
• Assist students with their academic and extracurricular goals.
• Help manage and document behavioral issues and progress.
• Provide support to students and their families.
• Maintain a safe and positive environment for the students.
• Ensure the physical and emotional safety of all students, and respond to emergencies as needed.
• Collaborate with other professionals as part of the treatment team.
• Teach values such as Responsibility, Grit, Honesty, Respect, Courage, Kindness, and Accountability to students.
• Participate in ongoing training and development to maintain a high standard of care for students

Discovery Ranch, a leading residential treatment center for boys aged 13-18 in Utah, is seeking Youth Mentors to join our team. As a Youth Mentor, you will have the opportunity to work with our students, helping them to develop new skills and advance their personal growth. You will be part of a supportive team of experienced professionals who are committed to helping young boys heal mentally, physically, and emotionally. Discovery Ranch combines the power of traditional and experiential therapies, including equine therapy and horsemanship programs, to create a clinically sophisticated, relationship-based setting that promotes growth and healing.

Full or part time hours | $16-18/hour Experience Dependent

Swing Shifts:

Monday, Wednesday, & Friday 2:30-11pm + 2 Sundays a month 4-11pm

Tuesday & Thursday 2:30-11pm, Saturday 4-11pm + 2 Sundays a month 4-11pm

Morning Shifts:

Monday, Wednesday, & Friday 7am-3pm + 2 Sundays a months 9am-4pm

Tuesday & Thursday 7am-3pm & Saturday 9am-4pm + 2 Sundays a month 9am-4pm
