Job summary

The Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking an experienced childcare professional for the 2026-2027 school year at West Philadelphia YMCA, 5120 Chestnut St, Philadelphia. The role focuses on engaging children with developmentally appropriate learning experiences in a caring, inclusive environment.

Required are a degree in education or human services and at least 2+ years of verified childcare experience (2500 hours); ability to pass all required clearances and trainings; and a passion for working

• 2+ years verified childcare experience (2500 hours).
• Passionate about working with children and committed to trainings.

Responsibilities

• Find new and engaging ways to help kids learn, while maintaining environments that build children's self esteem.
• Implement and plan curriculum for program with child-centered and developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
• Conduct and record weekly child observations and report concerns to parents/guardians when needed.
• Communicate effectively and timely with parents regarding children's progress while maintaining confidentiality.
• Maintain daily attendance records, emergency contacts, allergy reports, and related paperwork.
• Ensure centers have quality learning materials and organized centers.
• Attend monthly team-planning meetings and participate in the Annual Campaign by developing donors and volunteers.
