Job summary

Universal Health Services (UHS) Midwest Center for Youth and Families in Indiana is seeking a Mental Health Technician for full-time hours. The program serves youths 10-18 in a DBT-focused residential setting, with per diem/PRN options and weekend scheduling available.

The MHT will support safety, treatment plans, and group activities in a structured clinical environment. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, with preferred related degrees and prior behavioral health experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred in a related field.
• Prior behavioral health/psychiatric work experience required; 1 year in a psychiatric setting with youth aged 10-18 preferred.
• College student pursuing a degree in behavioral health, psychology, nursing or human services is preferred

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment.
• Implement elements of the treatment plan and identified interventions to provide quality care.
• Document and communicate client behaviors.
• Follow clinical and unit programming.
• Assist with patient groups and activities.
• Provide DBT skills coaching with patients.
