Job summary

Compass Health Network is seeking a Mental Health Technician to support youth in crisis at our acute psychiatric hospital for children and adolescents. You will provide structured, trauma-informed care and help with routines, while monitoring safety in a collaborative team.

You will join a compassionate care team in a rural community setting and contribute to individualized care plans, participate in de-escalation when needed, and support ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• High School/GED preferred.
• At least 1 year of psychiatric or hospital/nursing home experience preferred.
• Ability to provide age-appropriate emotional support.
• Trauma-informed, respectful care for youth and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide age-appropriate care and emotional support to youth and adolescent patients.
• Support daily routines and group activities in a structured treatment setting.
• Monitor patient safety and well-being through direct engagement and observation.
• Collaborate with clinical team members and contribute to individualized care plans.
• Assist with patient transportation and participate in de-escalation when needed.
• Complete educational activities to support your ongoing professional development.
