Fort Bend County Library seeks a Librarian I for Youth services at the Missouri City branch. The position provides programming, patron assistance, and youth-focused activities in a public library setting.

You will assist with story time, Summer Reading Club, outreach, and youth programs, while supporting staff and managing displays, tours, and training. Evening and weekend shifts are required. MLS is required; no prior library experience needed.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program.
• Knowledge of current library practices and technologies.
• No previous experience required.

Responsabilités

• Interact with patrons to meet informational needs.
• Search catalogs, databases, and print sources for complex inquiries.
• Direct staff and oversee branch activities.
• Maintain unit statistics and prepare reports.
• Assemble bibliographies and displays of materials.
• Represent library at schools and community groups.
• Plan tours and programs for adults and youth.
• Instruct and train new employees.
