Job summary

Fort Bend County is seeking a Librarian I-Youth to connect with patrons, help them locate materials, and develop programs for youth. You will search catalogs and databases, guide staff, arrange displays, and participate in outreach to schools and community groups.

The role includes training new employees and assisting in collection development. The position is full-time, with a starting hourly salary range of $25.97–$32.47 and benefits as part of the Fort Bend County system; evening and weekend

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program.
• Knowledge of current library practices and technologies.
• Night and weekend work is required.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with library patrons to assist in selecting materials and meeting informational needs.
• Directs assigned staff and oversees activities in a branch or central unit.
• Keeps statistical records of unit activities and prepares reports.
• Assists in outreach and youth services programs.
