The Staten Island South Shore YMCA is seeking an Activity Specialist: Leadership & College Readiness to support afterschool programs for school-aged children. Under supervision, you will deliver age-appropriate instruction and lead activities that build leadership, academic readiness, and personal growth.

You will foster an inclusive environment, ensure safety, and collaborate with staff, teachers, and families to support youth development and community engagement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required. College credits and related field preferred.
• Direct experience with children under 13 or equivalent.
• Content expert in designated subject matter and able to guide learning.

Responsabilités

• Implement leadership curriculum focused on leadership, civic engagement, and social responsibility.
• Design activities to develop life skills such as decision-making and communication.
• Lead service-learning projects and civic engagement activities.
• Support academic and career transitions for participants and map potential pathways.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive environment and model YMCA core values.
