Job summary

Harmonium Inc. is seeking a part-time Youth Leader in San Diego to supervise youth, run engaging activities, and assist with homework. The role focuses on creativity, resilience, and positive youth development in a school setting across San Diego County.

The ideal candidate supports educational activities, participates in training programs, and works afternoons on weekdays, with multiple sites possible in San Diego, CA.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must have 6 months experience (paid or unpaid) in after-school, childcare, or babysitting elementary aged children.
• Must have 48 completed college units OR pass the Classroom Assistant Proficiency Exam (math & literacy).
• Must have a valid Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification upon hire.
• Ability to travel throughout the county to meet job duties.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day activities of youth in the program.
• Lead enriching activities such as interactive games and arts & crafts.
• Help youth with homework and uncover engaging ways to assist learning.

Help shape a better world for our youth in San Diego. We are looking for a youth leader who exudes creativity and resilience to create an environment for youth that inspires, motivates, and engages youth. Harmonium operates programs throughout San Diego, all staff are considered multi-site workers and may be asked to sub or move to another site based on the needs of the program. We are currently looking for part-time (PM shift) candidates to join schools throughout San Diego, CA.

JOB COMPLEXITY.

• Supervise day-to-day activities of youth in the program

• Uncover new and engaging ways to assist youth with homework

MINIMUM COMPETENCIES.

• Must be 18 years of age
• Must have 6 months experience (paid or unpaid) in any of the following settings: an after-school program, group childcare setting, or babysitting elementary aged children
• Must have 48 completed college units OR pass the District's Classroom Assistant Proficiency Exam (a basic math and literacy test)
• Must have a valid Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification upon hire
• Ability to travel throughout the county with the flexibility required to meet job duties

COMPENSATION.

• Starting Rate: $22.00
• Part Time benefits include voluntary benefits, a 403b retirement plan plus match, and CA Paid Sick Leave in addition to hands-on training, virtual courses, and live presentations.
