Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta is seeking an Assistant Cook at the Andrew & Walter Young Family YMCA Early Learning Center in Atlanta, GA. This role supports meal prep, serves meals on schedule, and helps maintain CACFP records and food safety guidelines.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, at least one year of cooking experience, ServSafe certification within 30 days, and ability to pass background checks and a drug test.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma and/or GED.
• At least one year of experience in preparing meals.
• Must obtain ServSafe Certification within 30 days of employment.
• Must pass background check and drug test.
• Ergonomics: stand long periods and lift up to 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of meals and serving according to time schedules.
• Assist with receiving and storing food and inventory of utensils and equipment.
• Maintain CACFP Daily Menu and Food Service Records.
• Comply with sanitation and safety codes.
• Maintain clean sanitary kitchen area and proper attire when handling food.
