Job summary

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services seeks a Director to provide leadership for the Michigan Youth Training Center located in Mt. Clemens, MI. The role focuses on a secure, trauma‑informed environment and a comprehensive treatment program for youth.

You will oversee operations, budget, and regulatory compliance, guiding a staff of over 40 professionals across three shifts to promote safety, dignity, and positive youth development.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or a bachelor’s with relevant majors required.
• Two years as an Equitable Classification Plan Group Three manager.
• Two years in a child caring institution or equivalent organization (or four years post-bachelor’s).

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership in a secure residential setting.
• Oversee operations and budget administration.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and program quality.
• Supervise 40+ professional staff across three shifts.
• Advance a cohesive, trauma‑informed treatment philosophy.
