Job summary

Multnomah Athletic Club in Portland, OR is seeking Recreational Gymnastics Instructors for the 2026-2027 school year. You will lead age-appropriate classes, helping young athletes build confidence through movement in a fun, safe, and supportive environment.

We welcome coaches, former gymnasts, teachers, campers, or anyone passionate about working with children. Training is available for those with limited spotting experience.

Qualifications

• Passion for working with children and helping them learn, grow, and succeed.
• Positive attitude and strong communication skills.
• Willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid certification.
• Ability to work in a gym environment and follow safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Lead engaging gymnastics classes in a positive, professional, and encouraging manner.
• Teach fundamental gymnastics skills and adapt to each learner's level.
• Monitor progress and tailor instruction to different abilities.
• Create a safe learning environment by following safety procedures and checking equipment.
• Prepare lesson plans and activities to keep participants motivated and engaged.
• Communicate with parents and provide updates on progress.
• Assist with class setup, cleanup, and equipment organization.
• Attend staff trainings and collaborate with supervisors to improve program quality.
• Maintain attendance records and uphold club policies and safety standards.
