Job summary

The YMCA of South Hampton Roads is seeking a Golf Instructor to teach golf fundamentals and life skills to youth, teens, and families within The First Tee program. You will guide sessions, ensure safety, and help maintain equipment while promoting the YMCA and First Tee values.

Responsibilities include setting up instructional areas, monitoring student progress, and assisting with new youth program development. A passion for working with youth and flexibility in scheduling are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old with prior employment experience.
• Experience teaching basic golf skills, etiquette, and playing rules to youth.
• Ability to communicate effectively with youth and teens.
• Experience teaching in group and one-on-one settings.
• Flexible schedule for various class times (days/evenings).

Responsibilities

• Teach golf fundamentals and life skills to youth, teens and families.
• Set up and break down instructional areas; maintain safety and order.
• Monitor progress of students across classes and clinics.
• Assist in developing new programs for youth at The First Tee.
• Guide and support students and parents with program questions.
