Job summary

Together for Youth in Schoharie, NY seeks a Family Specialist to support at-risk youth and families through coordinated services and community connections. You will facilitate classes on financial literacy, employment readiness, and parenting support while coordinating case management and visits.

You will work evenings and weekends as needed, drive to visits, and collaborate with a Program Coordinator to provide flexible, culturally competent family services in a dynamic prevention program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human services or related field.
• At least 1 year of experience working with at-risk youth and families and in case management.
• Flexible schedule including day, evening, weekend, holiday and on-call hours.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving history; travel required.
• Ability to work with economically and culturally diverse populations.
• Crisis intervention and strong communication skills.
• Bilingual is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates classes that help youth build skills in financial literacy, employment readiness, communication, problem-solving, housing preparation, and community living.
• Provides parenting education and support to caregivers, helping families strengthen relationships and achieve goals.
• Works directly with youth and families referred to Schoharie school-based Prevention programs, providing family support services, case coordination, and connections to community resources.
• Maintain the organization, cleanliness, and operational readiness of the Schoharie Main Office, including monitoring programmatic and facility needs.
