Job summary

City of New York is seeking a Child and Family Specialist within the Administration for Children’s Services. The role requires a Master’s in Social Work and NYS LCSW registration, with at least one year of post-graduate experience in family team conferences or group decision-making, and a strong emphasis on facilitation and coordination across services.

The selected candidate will support planning, conduct conferences, and ensure service plans meet youth and family needs while aligning with ACS

Qualifications

• Must hold a Master’s Degree in Social Work and NYS LCSW registration.
• At least one year of post-graduate experience with family team conferences or family group decision-making meetings.
• Experience facilitating conferences and coordinating services.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate planning, support meetings and end of placement conferences.
• Participate in planning conferences to reflect ACS values and standards.
• Ensure concerns are identified and goals are developed.
• Meet with youth, families, and community partners to advance service plans.
• Coordinate with internal divisions and contracted agencies for open communication.
• Provide recommendations to residential and aftercare providers regarding referrals.
• Complete administrative tasks including documentation and data entry.
• Uphold state and city laws, regulations, and policy in service delivery.
• Collaborate with Office of Planning and Performance on provider performance.
• Attend inter/intra-agency meetings to share information and develop procedures.
• Provide ongoing trainings focused on goals with youth and families.
